Best Fact #1
Halloween goes back 2,000 years.

Best Fact #2
Americans spend an estimated $6B on costumes, candy, and related Halloween paraphernalia every year. (You read that right: Not six million, but six billion.)

Best Fact #3
The trick-or-treating we know today was much different in the past. It was called “guising,” where kids and teens would go out in costume and sing or recite poetry and tell jokes. In return, they would get food, wine, and money.

There is no shortage of commemorative days and months (October 1, 2015, for instance, was the first official International Coffee Day). But few issues are more worthy of commemoration than the problem of domestic violence, which is said to affect nearly one in four women and one in seven men in the U.S. alone. Its signifier the purple ribbon, October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, commemorating victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse.

Breast cancer has likely impacted you or someone close to you – a mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt or friend. While this disease is not wholly preventable, early breast cancer detection is critical. When breast cancer is detected early in the localized stage, the 5-year survival rate is 100 percent.

Because early detection tremendously benefits the outlook for patients, DeShon Laraye Pullen PLC is helping to raise Breast Cancer Awareness this month. Please, use the facts and resources we assembled below to help further the cause!

Below is a review from one of Ashley Rahaman’s clients. If you would like to see other reviews, visit Ashley’s Avvo page.

“The only bright side to my divorce, after 27 years of marriage, was retaining Ashley Rahaman to represent me. For all those going through the frightening and painful process of divorce, Ashley has extensive legal knowledge as well as the ability to empathize with her clients. Also, another plus was the reasonable pricing. I interviewed a few well known lawyers before asking Ashley to represent me.”

A couple weeks ago, we shared in this blog that DeShon Laraye Pullen PLC will be participating in this year’s Phoenix-area Light The Night Walk on Nov. 5. As we said then, the event is put on by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Light The Night Walk raises money for research to find life-saving treatments for these forms of cancer.

This year, our firm is walking for Gwen, the 4-year-old daughter of one of our colleagues. As part of Gwen’s Gladiators, we are committed to raising $5,000 in pledges to fight blood cancers.
